I am writing in response to representations made on January 3, 1990, by your accountant, 19(1) requesting a remission of tax on your behalf. I apologize for the length of time taken to complete the review that is necessary with such matters.
Your case was thoroughly reviewed and compared with the guidelines for recommending remissions.

I regret that a recommendation cannot be made under the Financial Administration Act for the remission of the amount of the 1985 refund that is statute-barred.
I wish to thank you for the opportunity to consider your case and while the remission you requested cannot be granted, I trust that the foregoing comments explain the policy that applies in these circumstances.
