19(1)
I am writing further to the letter of August 17, 1988, from my predecessor, the Honourable Elmer MacKav. to 19(1)19(1) made representations on your behalf concerning your 1977 income tax return and your claims for the deduction that is available to members of a religious order who have taken a vow of perpetual poverty. I apologize for the length of time taken to complete the thorough reviews that are necessary in such matters.
Due to the circumstances of your case, a recommendation for remission of income tax and applicable interest was made. I am pleased to inform you that on August 24, 1989, an Order in Council was issued by Her Excellency the Governor General in Council authorizing the remission of 1977 federal income tax in the amount of 19(1) and interest payable. A copy of the Order in Council is enclosed for your information.
On your behalf, I will ensure that the Saskatchewan Ministry of Revenue is provided with information necessary for their consideration of a remission of provincial income tax.
I trust that this matter has been resolved to your satisfaction.
Yours sincerely
Otto Jelinek
