Our Minister has received a letter dated July 28, 1989 from the Honourable Tom Hockin who has requested a remission of tax on behalf of: 19(1) ("the taxpayer").

In order that the Remission Committee may be able to consider the matter and apply the guidelines in TOM 2263.22, could you please submit to this Division a report containing the information required under TOM 2263.24(2)(A)-(g) together with your recommendation. In particular, we would appreciate your comments on the following matters:

3. Could you also forward the taxpayer's T1 returns for the 1988 and 1979 to 1982 taxation years.

Any other information that would be helpful to us would be appreciated. We enclose a copy of Mr. Tom Hockin's letter for your information.
