I am replying to your letter of June 28, 1988, concerning your 1982 Income Tax Return and Canada Pension Plan contributions. I apologize for the length of time taken to complete the thorough review that was necessary in this matter.
I am pleased to inform you that on September 21, 1989, an Order in council was issued by Her Excellency the Governor General in Council authorizing the remission of an overpayment of your 1982 income tax in the amount of 19(1) and all interest payable thereon. A copy of the Order in Council is enclosed for your information.
On behalf, I will ensure that the Ontario Ministry of Revenue is provided with the information necessary for their consideration of a remission of provincial income tax. 24(1) the Receiver General and address your letter to Mr. Bernard Larouche, Chief, Source Deductions division, Room 7036, 400 Cumberland Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0L8.
