I am replying to your letter of February 26, 1988, addressed to The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, requesting income tax refunds for the years 1982 and 1983. I apologize for the extended delay in responding which was necessitated by a thorough review of your file.

I am pleased to inform you that, on August 24, 1989, an Order in Council was issued by Her Excellency the Governor General in Council authorizing the remission of income tax in the amounts of $536.70 and $761.25 in respect of the 1982 and 1983 years, respectively. A copy of the Order in Council is enclosed for your information. Your account will be adjusted for these amounts.

I wish to thank you for making your concerns known and trust the matter has been resolved to your satisfaction.
