Dear Sirs:

This is in reply to your letter of November 1, 1990.

Your letter concerns the transfer of your self-directed registered retirement savings plan ("RRSP") from one carrier to another.  Because of delays encountered in having the property in your RRSP transferred, you have asked Revenue Canada, Taxation to "investigate the matter".  We can only say that this Department has no authority to intervene in what is essentially a private matter between you and the carrier of your RRSP.

We regret that our reply could not be more favourable.
