Subject: Bill C-28 Amendments

This is in reply to your letter of January 8, 1990 in which you asked us to review and comment certain Bill C-28 amendments to the Income Tax Act (and explanatory notes) that Finance proposes to make public. We have reviewed the proposed changes to the French versions of paragraph 60(o.1) and subparagraph 146(2)(c.4)(i). In our opinion, the amended French versions of the provisions correspond to the English versions. We therefore agree with the amendments as proposed.
