Dear Sir:

Re: 24(1)

In our letter of November 3, 1989, a copy of which is attached, we asked for the attendance of certain officers at the trial of the above.  The trial began January 16 and it is expected that their testimony will be required at the beginning of February. Could you advise of status?

There is urgency in the matter.  The travel, accommodation and related costs will be paid by Canada.

This request is made pursuant to Article XXVI of the Canada-Germany Income Tax Convention.
