We are replying to your letters of January 5 and January 29, 1988, addressed to the Kitchener District Office in which you requested assistance to straighten out your provincial income tax liability for 1977. We apologize for the extended delay in responding to you which was necessitated by thorough review of your file.
At the end of our review, we concluded that a recommendation for remission of income tax was warranted and we are pleased to inform you that, on August 24, 1989, an Order in Council was issued by Her Excellency the Governor General in Council authorizing the remission of federal income tax in the amount of 24(1) 19(1)
With respect to your Quebec income tax liability for 1977, we are not authorized to make a transfer of the Ontario tax paid for 1977 to the province of Quebec and suggest that you contact the province directly to resolve that matter. We would mention however, that we spoke to 19(1)
