Re: Interest Charges - Late Payment of Income Tax
Please find attached a letter from Mr. A.D.F. Burchill, Superintendent, Compensation Branch of The R.C.M.P., along with our acknowledgement. The correspondence details the circumstances surrounding the assessment of interest in respect of an undisclosed number of employees receiving northern benefits and requests some administrative relief with respect to these charges.
As the issue is not of an interpretive nature but rather one of Departmental policy, the correspondence is being forwarded to your Division for whatever action you consider appropriate.
