Subject: 19(1) Remission of Tax

This is in reply to the memorandum of February 16, 1989.

We are enclosing a copy of the Order in Council P.C.  1989-1869 dated September 21, 1989 which authorizes remission of the 1983 and 1984 penalties in the amounts of 19(1) and 19(1) respectively, and all interest payable on these amounts. Please inform the taxpayer and send us a copy of your letter to him so that we may complete our file.

The taxpayer's account will be adjusted as provided for in TOM 5830.

Please find enclosed herewith the orange appeal file and the taxpayer's T1 tax returns for the 1982 to 1985 taxation years.
